I Will Stand
Written by: Justin Hill and Candy Pfeifer
When God instructed Joshua to take the Promised Land,
The duty of the Priests was to follow God’s command
They must step into the Jordan while its banks still overflowed
When their feet dipped in the water, in an instant they would know
The presence of their God they were holding in their hands
As the waters stood up in a heap they were standing on dry land
Amidst this wall of water, the Priests stood strong while people crossed
Determined to prevail, their trust they never lost.
I will stand when those around me may fall
I will stand when faith dims and fear builds walls
I will stand for what is right, through my struggles I will fight
Lay claim to my Promised Land, I will stand!
Like the waters of the Jordon that seemed impossible to cross
The obstacle of fear and doubt flood my mind, all hope seems lost
But, I’m a Priest who carries the very presence of my God
Through His power I have conquered, and in praise, I will applaud.
We won’t back down
We can’t retreat
Jehovah God has never failed and knows no defeat!
