More Than Just Religion

More Than Just Religion

Verse 1
Sunday Mornin’ Worship,
Eleven on the dot,
I picked up the printed program,
And God didn’t have a spot.
We all looked so polished
Sittin’ in our padded pews.
Line by line and to the letter
Everything was right on cue.
Halfway through the sermon
We were shiftin’ in our seats,
Just lookin’ at our watches
And makin’ plans to eat.

Verse 2
Then something started happ’nin’
Stirrin’ in that room.
Nobody even noticed
When the clock struck noon.
Jesus made an entrance,
Started walkin’ down the aisles
We could feel Him in our tears,
And we could see Him in our smiles.
We were kneelin’ in repentance
From the alter to the door.
It was genuine revival
From the rafters to the floor

Chorus
Now we’ve got more than just religion,
The kind that’s cut and dried.
We’ve made our decision;
Holy Spirit, turn the tide.
From this day forward our tradition
Is to let you be our guide.
We’ve got more than just religion
Lord, welcome back inside.
